Dinnerware

From Grain to Grace — Where the Table Begins

There is care in what we eat — and in what we eat from.

This dining collection, created in collaboration with Sonite Décor, is a quiet tribute to the afterlife of the grain. From rice husk to resin, Palea et Lignum transforms what was once discarded into something lasting — into objects that carry presence, conscience, and story to the table.

The Ritual of Tablewar

Crafted from post-harvest rice husks and shaped with Sonite’s lightweight composite, each piece is more than tableware — it is a surface for gratitude. Tactile, earth-toned, and rooted in Thailand’s agricultural memory, these vessels echo the same ethos as our food: respectful, restorative, and intentional.

They serve not only meals, but meaning.

What Makes It Special?

• Formed from reclaimed rice husk — nature’s own material memory
• Smooth, warm, and quietly textured — each surface is unique
• Safe for daily use — food-contact certified under FDA & EU standards
• Low-carbon and smoke-free — designed to reduce agricultural waste
• Crafted with a feel of handmade, shaped with modern precision

A Table with Intention

When paired with our rice wax candles — Whispering Grains or Awakening Grains — each table becomes a space of slow ritual: Light. Serve. Sit. Be.

This is not just dining. It’s a pause. A presence. A quiet return to origin.

Dining Ware Collection

Each piece is made using rice husk resin composite, developed in partnership with Sonite Décor — a visionary Thai studio known for combining sustainability, architecture, and craft. The material blends finely ground rice husks with food-safe resin to create a surface that is tactile, strong, and symbolic.

Yes. Each piece in the Palea et Lignum collection has passed rigorous international food contact testing, confirming its safety for serving and eating.

It meets the following standards:

  • US FDA 21 CFR 177.2420: Ensures the material is safe for repeated use with food, including warm or mildly acidic meals, without releasing harmful substances.
  • EU No. 10/2011: The primary European regulation for plastics in contact with food. It certifies that the material is safe for use with a wide range of foods — including moist, fatty, or acidic foods — under real-life conditions of use.
  • EN1186-1:2002: Establishes how food safety is tested — from simulated cooking conditions to food storage — ensuring the results are reliable and applicable to your kitchen.
  • EN1186-9:2022: Confirms that no harmful substances migrate into liquid or water-based foods such as soups, porridges, or broths.
  • EN1186-14:2002: Ensures safety when used with fatty or oil-rich foods like meats, sauces, dressings, and salted eggs.

In short: whether you’re serving hot rice, soups, marinated meats, or oily dishes, you can trust that your food is resting on a material that is certified safe, clean, and responsible.

Your meals are served not only on beauty — but on certified care.

  • While it is dishwasher-safe up to 20 cycles, we recommend gentle hand-washing to preserve its edges, finish, and shape.
  • Products were tested under TOSHIBA DW-08T1(S)-TH P5 program at 68°C for 1.5 hours per cycle, using Finish Quantum Ultimate gel tabs (All-in-One).
  • After repeated dishwasher use, the husk texture may rise, edge colours may fade, and slight warping may occur.

For longevity, wash manually with warm water and mild detergent. Dry immediately with a soft towel.

No. These products are not suitable for microwave, oven, or freezer use. Keep them away from direct flame, hot pans, or open heat above 110°C (230°F).

  • Dust or wipe regularly with a dry cloth.
  • Clean with mild soap and warm water only.
  • Avoid harsh detergents, bleach, or scouring pads.
  • Do not soak or leave in standing water.
  • Store in cool, dry places, away from sunlight and high humidity.
  • Use coasters if placing hot items directly on trays.

Rice husk resin is porous by nature. For stronger stains or lingering smells:

  • Rub with lemon juice to remove odour and lighten marks.
  • For stubborn stains, use a nylon sponge with baking soda and hot water. Air dry thoroughly afterward.

Yes — especially in homes that practice mindfulness and sustainability. While not recommended for commercial restaurant environments, it is perfect for serving warm meals, family dishes, or even as a resting tray for tea and candles.

Its soft matte finish, natural texture, and recyclable design make it a beautiful presence in households that care about form, story, and sustainability.

We are the path we have lived through. The Palea et Lignum line is where Amira Royale’s reverence for Thai rice meets Sonite’s architectural philosophy of lightness and legacy. Inspired by the idea that even the husk — once discarded — holds memory, form, and dignity, this collection redefines what tableware can be.

This is industrial craft, natural innovation, and home ritual — not as a trend, but as a life ethic. By reclaiming what would be burned or thrown away, we offer you a new material heritage: one that connects soil, hand, and table.
